TTE@40 is a training programme that has been funded and developed by the European Commission's Leonardo programme. The aim is to promote entrepreneurship to third age entrepreneurs.
The workforce in Europe is shrinking. Within the last 40 years, the number of Europeans aged over 65 increased from 34m to 60m (European Commission 2001). On EU-level, this has led to the decision, that specific groups who would like to start their own business later in life need to be provided with all the necessary assistance. These groups include: older women; under-employed or unemployed people; people nearing retirement; and mothers with children who would like to return to the workforce.
Whether you fit into one of these groups or not is irrelevant, the key is that you have the desire to create something new. All of you will have had experiences which will assist you in succeeding with your business venture.
To start a business from scratch is never easy, but for those who have succeeded in the past, they have had the satisfaction of creating something of value which not only gave them financial independence but also the satisfaction that their product or service satisfied consumers.

TTE@40 is made up of 7 interactive training modules. The purpose of these training modules is to provide you with a framework to assist you in the development of your business. Whether you intend to start a small business from home or you have far bigger plans, these interactive modules will help you with the numerous issues that you will come up against during the start-up phase.
