    Providing support for female entrepreneurs in Vienna: Vienna Business Agency

    The "Womens' Service" of the Vienna Business Agency supports female entrepreneurs on their way into self-employment. 2.200 women have been consulted since 1999 - one third has managed to set up an enterprise.

     

     

    Female entrepreneurs in Austria (Article)

    30.300 new enterprises have been set up in Austria in 2003. 37% of these promoters are female. (European average: 18%). Experts discussed problems many female entrepreneurs are facing, like low capital resources and the lack of outside financial facilities, missing long-term perspectives and deficits in entrepreneurial thinking. A point in the discussion was also the wide-spread poverty of One-Woman-Entrepreneurs.
