European Network Database
Country specific database (contact and description) of pan-European and national social, financial, governmental and non-governmental organisations, educational establishments e.g. enterprise agencies, chambers of commerce, unemployment offices, incubators, business angels, seed and venture capitalists business innovation centres, Euro Info Centres, universities, business schools. The database will also include companies: SMEs and start-ups, incubees, large companies with an interest in supporting the development of start-ups e.g. telecom operators, high-tech and research companies.

Questionnaire/Survey
To determine the profile, training and development needs, learning methods, and skills and competencies of the primary target group.

Country Reports
Country reports on the training and development needs of the target group including: introduction, scope of the survey, methodology, sample, analysis, results and conclusions

European Report
 The report will analyse, summarise, compare and contrast the results of the completed questionnaires and interviews carried out in each participating country. To include, introduction, the survey, methodology, sample, analysis (correspondence), results and conclusions.

Competence Assessment (VCC)
A very important introduction to the training programme. This tool takes the form of an assessment questionnaire linked to a business model and set of competencies, which allows users to self-assess their skills and competence level.

TTE@40 Web- Platform
Supporting and editorial process and delivering the content to users in a web-optimised, interactive manner. Co-operative and self-paced learning environment using self-assessment, assessment-driven coursework, case studies, tutorials, practical hands-on learning experiences with interactive tools and discussion forum.

Knowledge Exchange
A mechanism fully integrated into the web-platform which provides a cross-border social network which

  • Facilitates the circulation of knowledge, information examples of best practice and sharing of experiences in a community of users within the EU and beyond and
  • Assists in the creation and functioning of working groups. The components will integrate a) communication and basic virtual community components (e.g. bulletin boards, e-mail, directories, public and private discussion, communication with tutors, links); b) social navigation components (opinion systems, advance profiling, trust enforcement);
  • Co-ordination components (process that supports common project emergence). - Electronic, integral part of the web-platform.

 

Training Programme Curricular
The definitive content of the training programme will be determined by the results of the research but is likely to include broad subject areas such as: choosing a business idea, evaluating business opportunities, developing technology-based business planning, profile and skills of a model entrepreneur, developing an entrepreneurial mindset, the business plan as a document, creativity and innovation, technology transfer and adaptation, intellectual property rights and patents, financial analysis and valuation, finance, venture organisations: capital, nurturing, joint and spin-offs, additional sources of finance: 5/6th Framework et al. writing a good business plan, corporate venturing, presenting business plans to a venture board/financiers and cross-border/international entrepreneurship. In addition to including a programme introduction, pre-programme reading, participant and business project introduction, it will also contain some more generic modules for example: teamwork, strategic alliances, finance for non-financial people, basic IT skills, leadership, motivation and access to the market.
